The Missouri Motion Media Association's mission is to advance the film and television industry in Missouri with a focus on promoting economic growth and job creation by reinstating a statewide Missouri film incentive program.
Our vision is to be the collective voice for our industry in legislative, business and state leadership that promotes our industry and supports current and future production professionals manufacturing entertainment in Missouri.
The Missouri Motion Media Association is the only statewide advocacy and education organization in Missouri, working to reinstate film incentives and strengthen our production industry throughout the state, in both urban and rural markets. We recognize the entertainment industry continues to grow and we believe Missouri deserves to compete in this industry for work in film and television.
FILM IN MO works with the Missouri Film Office, which is under The Missouri Department of Economic Development.
Both Film in MO and the Missouri Film Office are doing all they can to help grow film production Missouri and improve Missouri's economy. The Missouri Film Office and FILM IN MO often partner to present in-person events and educational programs to promote the production industry.
The Missouri Motion Media Association is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization and run by volunteers only. All funds raised by the organization go to supporting the website, promotional events, event promotion and lobbying efforts.
In 2005, our founder, Lorah Steiner, formed an organization to support the production industry of Missouri. She traveled around the state and met with motion media industry professionals in six cities. The Missouri Motion Media Association was created to unify the industry, provide a united voice on legislative issues that affect our profession, provide access to job opportunities and production alerts, and give opportunities for networking and education.
Film in MO is not Republican or Democrat, it is not conservative or liberal, it is not red team or blue team. It is both non-partisan and bipartisan because film in Missouri is good for all of Missouri. Film in Missouri is about improving Missouri's economy for everyone.
